Get Schools Cooking Grant
Whole Kids and Chef Ann Foundation
Description: The goal of this program is to to help districts transition from highly processed meals to scratch cooking. Get Schools Cooking will guide selected districts through this multi-year transformative journey that includes in-person workshops for food service directors, on-site assessment, recommendations, and strategic planning, along with peer-to-peer collaboration and access to a Technical/Equipment Assistance Grant.
Eligibility: School districts that 1) Participate in the National School Lunch Program and 2) Run a self-operated food service program
Award amount: The program has a value of nearly $250,000 per participating district (depending on district size).
Deadline: September 30, 2024
Youth Sports Grants
All Kids Play
Description: All Kids Play provides funding to families and communities who lack the resources to pay for youth sports.
Eligibility: School sports programs in low income communities that provide community-based recreational level or school sports for kids in grades K-12. Applicants must operate in an area in which the local school district has a higher percentage of low income students than the state average or the average household income in the community is lower than 60% of the estimated state median income by household size based on the most recent data from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program.
Deadline: 30 days prior to the sport program registration deadline
2024-2025 Energy CLASS
Department of Energy
Description: The Energy Champions Leading the Advancement of Sustainable Schools program (Energy CLASS) is a strategic initiative from the DOE Renew America’s Schools Program promoting building and energy management in school districts across America. This opportunity will allow up to 50 school districts to receive coaching and 1:1 expert advice on strategic energy management, project development, funding pathways, and related topics to advance their district’s sustainability goals.
Eligibility: K-12 public school districts
Deadline: October 4, 2024
2024-25 Title I School Improvement Grant 1003 (Targeted Support)
New York State Education Department
Description: For the 2024-25 school year, the New York State Education Department (NYSED or “the Department”) is providing Target Districts with schools under Receivership that participate in Targeted Coaching the opportunity to receive additional support and technical assistance to assist these schools in meeting their annual identified targets.
Eligibility: Target Districts that have at least one eligible school under Receivership that has registered for Targeted Coaching are eligible to submit applications for this grant.
