The Mockingbird Foundation Grants
The Mockingbird Foundation
Description: The Mockingbird Foundation offers competitive grants to schools and nonprofit organizations that effect improvements in music education for children.
Eligibility: Grants are made only to nonprofit organizations with tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service code, or which have a sponsoring agency with this status, or which are government entities, e.g. public schools. Full proposals are by invitation only. Those interested in funding should complete the Initial Inquiry Form.
Award amount: Grants range in size from $100 to $10,000.
Deadline: Inquiries are due January 15, 2025.
Instrument Matching Grant
Classics for Kids Foundation
Description: Aims to support music education programs by providing funding for the purchase of musical instruments for school children. This matching grant program encourages nonprofit schools and organizations to raise funds, with CFKF matching contributions up to 50% of the total instrument cost.
Eligibility: Nonprofits and public schools serving children in kindergarten through grade 12.
Deadline: December 31, 2024
NY School Bus Incentive Program
New York State Energy Research and Development Authority
Description: In the April 2022 budget passed by the New York State Legislature and signed by Governor Hochul, the State established a deadline for the transition to zero-emission buses. NYSBIP is a voucher incentive program which will accelerate the deployment of zero-emission school buses and charging infrastructures throughout New York State. Electric School Bus (ESB) Dealers work with the Purchasers to complete the School Bus Voucher Application. Purchasers may apply for Charging Vouchers after they initiate an ESB purchase either through NYSBIP or with other funding.
Eligibility: Purchasers can be New York State public school districts or other public entities that provide pupil transportation services
Award amount: Varies
Deadline: Rolling. Applications are being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
2024 Clean School Bus Rebate Program
United States Environmental Protection Agency
Description: The EPA is offering rebates to replace existing school buses with clean and zero-emission models.
Eligibility: Public school districts providing school bus service to one or more public school systems; or the purchase, lease, license, or contract for service of school buses.
Available funding: School districts applying directly for funds may only submit one application to replace up to 50 buses. The maximum rebate amount per bus is dependent on (1) the replacement bus fuel type, (2) the replacement bus size, and (3) whether the school district served by the buses is prioritized. For the 2024 CSB Rebates, the EPA anticipates offering up to $965 million in total funding.
