School-Based Mental Health Services Grant Program
U.S. Department of Education
Estimated grant amount: Estimated $500,000- $3,000,000
Estimated number of awards: 15–25
Project period: Up to 60 months
Application deadline: April 30, 2024
Description: The purpose of the SBMH grant program is to provide competitive grants to State educational agencies (SEAs), local educational agencies (LEAs), and consortia of LEAs. The Department aims to help address increased mental health needs as a result of COVID and provide support to students, families, and schools by increasing the number of credentialed school-based mental health services providers in LEAs with demonstrated need under the SBMH grant program.
2024-25 Title I School Improvement Grant 1003 (Coaching for Excellence)
New York State Education Department
Eligibility: Target Districts with at least one non-Receivership school in the CSI or ATSI support model
Grant amount: Up to $125,000 to support the salary and benefits for the employment of one new 1.0 Full-Time Equivalent instructional coach or up to $50,000 to support the continued salary and benefits for the employment of the 1.0 Full-Time Equivalent instructional coach
Application deadline: June 30, 2024
Description: The New York State Education Department (NYSED or “the Department”) is providing Target Districts with schools identified for Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI), Additional Targeted Support and Improvement (ATSI), and Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI) model at the beginning stages of implementing instructional coaching the opportunity to receive funding to support the employment of an instructional coach to allow the school to participate in the NYSED Coaching for Excellence (CFE) program.
Tower Foundation: Programs & Services Grants
Peter & Elizabeth Tower Foundation
Geographic areas: Erie County, Niagara County
Grant amount: Ranging from (but not limited to) $15,000 to $50,000 per year
Project period: The most competitive applications are likely to be no more than three years
Application deadline: August 7, 2024
Description: The Peter & Elizabeth Tower Foundation is interested in funding requests that address the needs of young people affected by intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, mental health challenges, and substance use disorders who also have intersecting identities as members of historically marginalized communities. Through our Programs & Services grants, we seek to support projects or initiatives that are new to an organization or that enhance, expand, or adapt existing activities.
Connect Kids to Parks Field Trip Grant Program
New York State Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation
Grant amount: Up to $80 per student and $160 for Special Education students. This is a reimbursement grant program, meaning that each grant recipient must cover all initial field trip costs.
Application deadline: Rolling
Description: The Connect-Kids-to-Parks Field Trip Grant Program (Connect Kids) is designed to connect students in New York State with nature and history. Each grant provides reimbursement of up to $80 per student (and $160 for Special Education students) for field trips to state and federal parks, forests, historic sites, fish hatcheries and outdoor recreation areas. Reimbursable field trip expenses include transportation costs, as well as program, entry, pavilion fees, on-site equipment rentals (boat rentals, snowshoes, etc.), and camping at state-owned facilities.
COVID-19 Student Support Recovery Grant
School Based Healthcare Solutions Network
Anticipated grant amount: Up to $250,000
Application deadline: Rolling
Description: The purpose of this program is to promote a collaborative and integrated approach amongst the education and healthcare community to ensure students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. The funding will support the placement of licensed mental health professionals on school campuses. These health professionals will provide mental health services and coordinate academic-support activities in collaboration with school district designated program personnel.
